"Showers and possible hail for the day," predicted the weather man over the telly, "so expect it to be a cold day folks!". I thought it was quite the opposite: it was bloody warm in the apartment... but then again, mom had blazed up the heater to the max... THAT most likely explains why I felt as if I was in the middle of the Borneon jungle, minus the exotic foliage and the melodious echoes of rare birds. Instead, the evergreen paradise was replaced with a view of the small, cramped apartment living room, cluttered with all sorts of mess: tattered shoes, wrinkled socks, fluffy blankets, scattered remote controls and what nots. Nevertheless in spite of the mess, everyone was in a good mood: Dad had just flown into town. Yay!
So off to the DFO we went, as one big family outing to Cheltenham. The weather was cold as the icy breeze flew across the Melbourne streets. Streets were packed with people from all walks of life and the ever-comforting social buzzings could be heard from the street restaurant and cafes of Degraves Street, as people sought to fulfill their weekend ritual of friend catch-up over coffee/tea and gourmet breakfasts. So we stepped out into the open and off to Cheltenham, we went!
Zim waiting for a pick-me-up at the train Station
The train ride proved to be uneventful and long: 45mins at least....upon our arrival we walked out to cross over the street in search for a bus stop. It was before this that we made a quick stop over to a professional golf store located right next to the train station: It's small and quaint, you definitely can't miss it. Green filled the walls and floors of this little golf store endlessly. The room size was a tad bit cramped where rows upon rows of golf bags and clubs crowded almost every corner of the room. As I walked in, I couldn't help but notice various sorts of plaques, trophies and smiling photos posted on the walls: this man sure had some nice memories... The whole store had a general charming feeling.... here, dad made an amazing discovery: he encountered an old acquaintance, the store owner one of the Brunei's former golf course managers. What a co-kinky-dence!
After the friendly visit to the store, we proceeded to catch the bus direct to the DFO.... unknown to us all and much to everyone's impatience, we had to wait nearly an hour for the bus!!
Being the weekend, the DFO was packed with plenty of shoppers buzzing in and out of various stores.... Sale season was certainly here as bright red signs can be seen plastered from window to window, screaming: "50% off" or "buy two, get one free!" even "everything on sale"! Yes, majority of the shoppers there were *ehem* women... hehehe hey, don't get mad! I'm a woman too... And I don't make generalisations... i just see them and take note of them... hehehehe
Arrival @ the DFO, Cheltenham
Anyway... back to the DFO trip, the DFO store itself was a grand edifice: with over 100 stores available all on one floor and in this case, with the sale season happening: the combination resulted in a purely blissful shopping experience! Aaaahhh.....
