.Cast No Shadow.

Sometimes he finds himself longing to hear the words be said to him: the three words he needs to hear. It doesn't matter who says it... as long as he hears it then he'd know that everything falls into place.

There are times he finds himself staring at the bustling crowd in front of him - the deafening music of city life fails to drown out the sound of heavy clobbering footsteps. The weather is just as unforgiving: the heavens grey, thick and threatening. Rain pours down onto the scuttling mass of grey and black jackets. Herds of people make their way to god knows where, oblivious to the rest of the world.

Too busy with their own problems, I suppose. He thinks. It's a cold, gloomy and isolating world. A lonely world.

Oddly enough, it is from this black and grey mass that he finds himself wishing that someone would take notice. He wishes that from this relentless, bustling crowd a hand would reach out to him.

Placing a hand on his shoulder, the new stranger bore their eyes deep into his and say the three words he longed to hear. As the words were mouthed, suddenly time freezes over - the world has stopped in motion.

Birds midflight, rain suspended in air, every single person is frozen in space and time. The world is silent - not a single sound is made or heard. Deafening silence invades the air and everything is suspended in motion.

As for him, he closes his eyes and inhales deeply as though trying to breath in the very words deep into his being. The feeling overwhelms him, soaring through every muscle in his body, spreading through every nerve, prickling his skin.

Eyes open and he stars back into the eyes of the new stranger: I don't know who you are but you said it. It doesn't matter who you are... I just needed to hear those words, he thought to himself.

The stranger's eyes were clear and wide open, mouth still agape and in mid sentence - like everything else, suspended in motion. He studies the stranger's face: small wrinkles around the corner of the eyes. Just like the rings of an aging tree, these wrinkles signified the life years this stranger had seen.

Mind is still in process, translating and decoding the three words into his head: brain signals register and as soon as the significance dawns into him, a sudden rush of noise and movement begin. The world has returned back to norm.

In the wet, darkened lonely world where people are too caught up with their own affairs, subconsciously seeking internal happiness and contentment, a man walks away and fades in the bustling mob with peace at heart. He seeks to find another who longs to hear the three words and if God is willing, he will say them.

"You'll be alright"

It's amazing find out that there's so much you can accomplish in one day: having studied our asses off throughout the week (and in our own unique way, celebrating the end of classes...) a few mates and I decided to take the day off for a rare treat.

By half past eight in the morning, eyes opened wide. Surged with excitement, I got up and proceeded to wake everyone else in the house (much to their dismay, I suppose.. haha) Beds were jumped, blankets were yanked, pillows were pulled and all sorts happened as I tried with all my might to wake my mates up... not long after that... smiles were exchanged between one another, towels were grabbed as we headed out the door.

Nine o'clock in the morning and the first person had made a mad dash into the pool: it was Mr.TaylorC (or TC as T likes to call him). Soon after, it was followed by each one of us as we jumped into the cold pool and waddled about the cool refreshing water as the sun came out. Several swimming laps later and the sky was bright as ever - the weather was beautiful again. We were living it, enjoying every moment of it - hopping back and forth between the cool-watered pool and the steaming jacuzzi.
All except for Ms A. who decided to stay indoors and enjoy more sleep in dreamworld :)

Those who had just woken up and logged on facebook, they were greeted with my early tweet: "...starting her day with a swim in the cool-watered pool under the hot sun. Key to Good Life, Part 2: Enjoy the simplest pleasures in life :)"

.Before Vic Market & Knackered after the morning swim: We all dozed off for a bit during lunch.

By afternoon, we were well out of the pool and were already meandering our way through the alleys of Victoria Market. As expected, the market was alive with all sorts treat to the senses: sounds of boisterous vendors, smells of fresh foods, tastes of delicious delights and splashes of colour everywhere. Despite all Vic Market has to offer us, we were there on a mission: to buy seafood - and plenty of it, we got!

We also took the opportunity to hit by the local pet store nearby where we were able to check out the animals often left to run loose around the facility: like their white macaw (?) parrot. The pet store also had a basement section where they keep their reptiles and fish for sale. When we arrived, we were able to see one of the fellow workers display one of their live snakes to the customers. Man, snakes are beautiful but... Daang, I still can't bring myself to go near one, let alone touch it.

Fresh Oysters and Seafood steamboat was on the menu tonight, thanks to the unwavering efforts of Ms. A & Ms. T. It was a filling dinner with enjoyable company with lots of treats from the sea on offer: fresh salmon, oysters, clams, crabs, shrimps, fish, squids and what nots.... accompanied by home made chicken broth and vegetables.

A goodnight end that complimented a good day start, I should say (if that makes sense, hahaha). It started off with a nice early swim in the cool-watered pool under beautiful weather and it ended with an evening of fresh salmon, oysters, shrimp and oysters :)

Last Thursday was a beautiful day - luckily Melbourne lately has been blessed with good weather so it wasn't surprising to see students lying about on any patch of green they see, surrounded by books. Good weather is always the perfectl good excuse for students to avoid sitting behind boring desks in dreary old libraries. Besides, the fresh air is always good for the lungs :)

For me, I was absolutely enjoying every bit of it: loving the soft green patches, golden yellow rays of light and the low humdrum of city noise (footsteps, car honks, birds twitting, unrecognisable chatterings, etc). As I lied down against the green grass, I got a nice view of the sky - a blue blanket across the horizon, with no clouds in sight. The sky was as clear as glass.

The rich sunlight was complimented by subtle cooling blows of the wind - a perfect combination, luring the city folks from their indoor dwellings and out into the wide open. As you may have read earlier before, I was one of these folks. I was willing to make a good excuse to pack up my school books and head out into the sun. The sunny day was also an excuse for me to make good use of my new sunnies.

The girls were also there with me (there, being the centre of Melbourne's QV plaza where the management had recently installed a bed of fake green grass for some of the Melburnians to enjoy). Just like me, the girls were lying about soaking up the sun: shoes kicked off, sweaters lying about, books spread open, pens and highlighters scattered about.

Yup folks, this is how Melbourne students live it up down under, amidst their preparations for exams.

.It's a Golden Sky, after all.

Glued to the TV at the moment... my emotions are hung in suspense: nervous and in anticipation for the upcoming football game between the two legendary footy Titans, Manchester United vs. Liverpool - I can't wait to see who wins. Anticipation fills my heart and mind as I watch the men on the flat screen don on their red uniforms and walk out into the beautiful green field, smack down in the middle of 44,000 roaring fans. The crowded stadium is filled with throngs of die-hard Liverpool supporters, singing their glorious anthem loud and proud with all their might.

*50 mins after the start of game...*
It's now half time into the game and a few minutes ago, the referee had just blown his whistle: signifying the break time. Neither teams managed to score any goal, although both had made a few powerful, threatening attempts. Faces of panel commentators plague the screen and in a few minutes... the clash of Titans begin again.

*64 mins since the start....*
SCOREEEE! Finally in the moment of truth, Liverpool has struck gold... and it looks like Liverpool's anthem of the Golden Sky is coming true... The stadium is roaring loud as Torres claims one victory goal over Manchester United, finally breaking it's four times undefeated reign. 96mins into the game... Liverpool walked off the field with glorious victory as its young stars, Ngog scored the second and last goal for the game! Well done lads - Liverpool lives on!

I am content and, for the time being, shall sleep in peace tonight.

.SHR = Selamat Hari Raya.

I think it's about time I share these photos with you guys - hehehe. I was fortunate enough to be able to come back to Melbourne in time to still celebrate Eid Mubarak with my friends in Melbourne. It took place approximately two weeks ago - an organised event co-hosted between the Flinders Gang along with the St. Kilda folks.

A good starry night (although it was quite windy and cold outside). The event started a tad bit late and was tad bit more chaotic but luckily everyone was cool about it and didn't let it spoil their night. Tons of food and friends around. Lots of smiles and camera flashes... and tons more photos.

Made this entry a few nights ago... I think it was on a Saturday night and I couldn't sleep - found myself bored to death trying to figure out what to do. So ended up doing this entry:

"Omg... it's fifteen minutes to five in the morning and I've been struck with the sudden urge to draw. As I had unabashedly complained for all to see in Facebook and Twitter: I am haunted by the echoing laughter and faces of creepy clowns and wicked court jesters. All of a sudden the empty void in my head is filled with rich, dark images of wide eriee smiles of the joker... and my hand is itching to draw them out on the blank canvases of my white paper

It was as though a sudden compartment in my head had been unlocked to unleash the imaginative visions into my head, giving me so many ideas of pictures I ought to draw... I feel like I'm on a role...

"I am enlisted in the throes of two opposing forces..." - I came across this sentence one day as I was walking past a window. Someone had drawn it onto the see-through glass, accompanied by drawings of some odd machinery and a few birds. Something about the beginning of the sentence struck a chord in me... and quite possibly describes how I'm feeling at the moment: my sudden desire to draw, fill pages upon pages of the darkening sinister world of jesters, wide evil smiles versus the feeling of sweet slumber land beckoning me to shut my eyes and dream my night away. My eyes droop with fatigueness... perhaps I will give into the latter..."
