Last night was certainly a great night: it's been a while since we've had a nice dinner gathering with the cool cats in Melbourne and I guess Mr Canon thought it was high time that we organised one at his place yesterday!
During the morning, Ms DT and I decided to relax and unwind before heading over to the fiesta at Mr Canon's house. We opted to go to the cafe just by our apartment and spoilt ourselves for breakfast - coincidentally bumping into Ms Crocs with her friend. It was from Ms Crocs that we found out Mr Canon was in Nila Restaurant with some of the boys. One of them being Mr Silhouette - a new Melbruneian student who will be finishing his studies here with us. Another avid photographer, you can check out his website: Mr Silhouette.
Discussion with Ms DT on yesterday's plans
By 4:30pm, we made our way to Mr Canon's house to help with the BBQ dinner set up, ensuring that there was plenty of marinated chicken and lamb chops. By 6:00pm, many guests started arriving... Ms V, Mr P and his friend Visual Acid and finally Mr Silhouette and his brother-in-law.
It was a night of good food and certainly good company. What started out as a simple get together BBQ dinner ended up being an informal, crazy and highly amusing feast topped off by an enthusiastic magic show.
Food was in abundance, with the usual favourite served along side crispy, juicy succulent chicken wings, warm fluffy white rice and vegetable stir-fry.
The magic show was performed by Visual Acid, another Melbruneian student studying in the city. With quite the charming personality, I could see why many people were captivated by his tricks! In one way or another it sort of reminded me of Mr Magic - another performing magician whom I had the pleasure to work with back in Brunei. Sadly I didn't catch much of his performance with the gang because i was busy in the kitchen helping Ms V prepare the food.
After dinner, we mingled a little bit more... getting better acquainted with Visual Acid - i have to admit that I did feel sorry for him.. hehe Mr Canon was quite persistent on asking him to do more magic tricks. I guess that shows how good of a magician he was!
